Job Description:
You will be responsible for the procurement of goods, capital equipment and services, sourcing of new vendors, benchmarking of pricing, management of commercial risk, maintaining adherence to policies and procedures, ensuring that value for money is maximized and cost savings are generated for the company, supporting the InPorts part of the business.
Job Responsibilities:
- Compile the supplier contract document and incorporating any changes agreed.
- Execute commercial evaluation.
- Provide active benchmarking data and analysis.
- Recommend suppliers to invite to tender based on an analysis of the technical information.
- Provide advice to the originator and other personnel.
- Issue enquiries to selected tenderers and oversee clarification of tenders.
- Lead the supplier negotiations, recommend supplier selection and implement contracts.
- Progress the tender package through the approval process.
Job Requirements:
- Good understanding of the purchasing framework, and related policies and procedures
- Knowledge in contract law and/or drafting
- Understanding of relevant safety and construction contract legislations
- In depth knowledge of contracts management and administration
- Knowledge of applicable Practices, policies and procedures
- Knowledge of procurement processes, techniques and systems
- Sound knowledge of the BBBEE Code of Good Practice and Mining Charter
Qualification & Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a commercial/legal environment
- A Legal / Commercial degree with requisite expertise.
