Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain policies, strategies, standards and best practices for managing departmental knowledge and information
  • Provide strategic input and direction in planning process (strategy development and business planning) of the sub-directorate Knowledge and Information Management)
  • Develop corporate knowledge and information management concepts and metadata
  • Design, develop and implement the Electronic Content and Document management system
  • Manage, update and develop departmental website and intranet content (KIM Portal)
  • Prepare website content by structuring information and layout of pages for quality control of web content (KIM Portal)
  • Intranet, website (KIM Portal) and IMS or LMS
  • Develop new content and rewriting/ editing existing content into a form that is appropriate for interactive media and adds value to the content materials
  • Reform text, assure hyperlinks integrity, position new content to the website and ensure that, the content on the website is always up-to-date, accurate, consistence and reliable
  • Liaise with relevant stakeholders on new website content development and enhancement of website (KIM Portal)
  • Promote the effective use of knowledge sharing tools for all partners and staff by facilitating learning, knowledge and information sharing sessions through seminars, workshops and conferences
  • Plan, organise and host knowledge sharing network sessions
  • Monitor knowledge needs and changes that need to be made in order to leverage the Department’s information and knowledge
  • Conduct knowledge and information audits to assess what knowledge and information the department possess for effective planning and identify local knowledge needs and prioritise in terms of added value to the department
  • Establish the knowledge and learning resource Centre
  • Source and upload content on the CoGTA platforms
  • Coordinate web-related projects and activities within the department
  • Supervision and solve conflict within the Division
  • Supervision of skills development plan of the Division
  • Supervision of the PMDS within the Division
  • Supervision of leave management within the Division
  • Supervision of audit finding and queries of the Division.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Matric plus NQF level 6/ National Diploma in Information and Knowledge Management/Information Science or Library and Information Science with the focus on Information Science or relevant qualification, coupled with 3-5 years’ working experience in knowledge information management, experience and knowledge in management practices, outreach programmes, public information and government communication or related fields is essential
