Job Description:

This is a Mechanical Engineering Level 4 position. This person will participate as a member of a cross-functional Engineering team which support products for use in industrial environments. This involves supporting mechanical switches or the design of sealed enclosures containing various electronic, mechanical, or optical devices such as mechanical limit switches, optical/inductive sensors, and safety products.

Job Responsibilities:

• Ensures thorough familiarity with company policies and procedures. Appropriately applies policies and procedures in compliance with government laws. Policies and procedures include, but not limited to Standards of Business Conduct, Intellectual Property, Control Environment, Information Protection, ISO 9000 & 14000, government regulations (e.g. health, safety, quality and environmental), and functional policies published on the Rockwell Automation Information Network.
• Must have good interpersonal skills and work well within a team environment. Prior project and mentoring experience is a plus.
• Must be capable of defining and supervising engineering tests to qualify designs.
• Needs to provide the necessary “hands-on” expertise to resolve complex, cross-functional issues regarding product functionality, assembly methods and product qualification while meeting aggressive product cost targets and schedules.

Job Requirements:

Qualification & Experience:

• Bachelors degree
• Proficient in the use of a 3D Solid Modeling CAD systems and Structural/Thermal analysis tools.
• Capable of creating innovative designs suitable for high volume production.
• Recent product design experience developing products for use in industrial, consumer or medical applications. Prior experience designing electrical connectors, optical/inductive sensors, mechanical sensors and knowledge of UL, CSA and IEC standards is highly desirable.
• Typically requires a Master’s Degree and minimum of 8 years of related experience in product design, or a Bachelor’s Degree and minimum of 10 years of related experience in product design.
• Legal authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
• Job content includes some detailed documentation tasks and product maintenance.
