The Department of Transport and Public Works, Western Cape Government has an employment opportunity for a suitably qualified and competent individual to render an effective management and financial accounting service

Job Responsibilities:

  • Effective budget administration
  • Revenue and expenditure control
  • Payment voucher control
  • Creditors
  • LOGIS payments
  • Journal Transactions
  • Asset and liability accounts
  • Cash and banking
  • Revenue and Receivables
  • Form control and knowledge
  • Costing.

Job Requirements:

  • Knowledge of the following: Financial norms and standards (Public Finance Management Act, National Treasury Regulations and Provincial Treasury Instructions) Financial Systems (LOGIS and BAS)
  • Drafting of Financial Statements
  • Proven computer literacy
  • Problem Solving
  • Decision Making
  • Technical proficiency
  • Written and verbal communication skills.

Qualification & Experience:

  • An appropriate 3-year tertiary qualification (National Diploma/ B-degree or higher) in Accounting or Financial Management
  • A minimum of 1-year experience in a Financial Accounting environment
  • A valid (Code B or higher) driving license.
