The Department of Transport and Public Works, Western Cape Government has an employment opportunity for a suitably qualified and competent individual to render an effective management and financial accounting service
Job Responsibilities:
- Effective budget administration
- Revenue and expenditure control
- Payment voucher control
- Creditors
- LOGIS payments
- Journal Transactions
- Asset and liability accounts
- Cash and banking
- Revenue and Receivables
- Form control and knowledge
- Costing.
Job Requirements:
- Knowledge of the following: Financial norms and standards (Public Finance Management Act, National Treasury Regulations and Provincial Treasury Instructions) Financial Systems (LOGIS and BAS)
- Drafting of Financial Statements
- Proven computer literacy
- Problem Solving
- Decision Making
- Technical proficiency
- Written and verbal communication skills.
Qualification & Experience:
- An appropriate 3-year tertiary qualification (National Diploma/ B-degree or higher) in Accounting or Financial Management
- A minimum of 1-year experience in a Financial Accounting environment
- A valid (Code B or higher) driving license.
